A breakfast that waits for you

Chia pudding works because it is prepared before the rush starts. Mango and coconut make it feel like dessert, while curd adds tang and better balance.

Teffix take:

The second stir is non-negotiable. It prevents chia clumps and gives the pudding a smooth, spoonable texture.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp chia seeds
  • ¾ cup coconut milk
  • ½ cup thick curd
  • 1 cup mango puree
  • 1 tsp honey or jaggery syrup, optional
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp toasted almonds or pistachios
  • Pinch of salt
  • Fresh mango cubes for topping

Indian sourcing notes

  • Use ripe sweet mango for best flavor. If mango is very sweet, skip honey. Coconut milk can be replaced with regular milk for a lighter version.

Method

  1. Mix chia seeds, coconut milk, curd, cardamom, salt, and honey in a bowl. Stir well and rest for ten minutes, then stir again to prevent clumps. Refrigerate for at least three hours or overnight. Add mango puree to jars, spoon chia pudding on top, and finish with mango cubes and toasted nuts. Serve chilled.

Stop chia seeds from forming lumps.

Chia seeds swell quickly and stick together if left untouched. Stir once when mixing and again after ten minutes before refrigerating.

Try this after cooking

For clean layers, chill the chia pudding separately and assemble the mango layer in jars just before serving.

  • Use a wide bowl for mixing
  • Stir once after ten minutes
  • Chill for at least three hours
  • Add fruit only before serving if storing longer

Dessert-style breakfast jars are everywhere.

Breakfast jars are popular because they look good, travel well, and are easy to prep. The best versions control sweetness and include protein or fiber.

What most cooks miss

The trend works when the jar tastes like a treat but still keeps breakfast practical and filling.

  • Use seasonal fruit for natural sweetness.
  • Balance creamy ingredients with tangy curd.
  • Keep toppings crunchy until serving.
5

Glass jars that make prep easier.

This week’s recommendation is a set of small glass jars with lids. They are useful for breakfast, chutneys, soaked nuts, dressings, and leftovers.

Small Glass Storage Jars

Approx. ₹300–₹800 for set

Glass jars make portioning easier and keep chilled foods fresh. Choose wide-mouth jars because they are easier to fill, eat from, and clean.

Honest verdict

  • Worth buying if you meal prep breakfast.
  • Wide-mouth jars are better than narrow ones.
  • Check lid quality before buying.
